Fleet Management Module

The Fleet Management Module provides the ability to manage Fleet operations and displays information like Tractors, Drivers, and other Fleet Assets. TMS customers conduct both brokerage and Fleet Asset management in one application. Four primary functions are completed with the Fleet Management Console.

Configure any applicable integrations following the links below.

• Catena (formerly Axle)

• Border Connect

• Samsara

• Trimble Maps

• Comdata Fuel Cards

Integration call outs and Fleet information updates are controlled by two jobs.

• Catena users must run the Fleet Management 2 job.

• Samsara users must run the Fleet Management 3 job.

Track tax and milage information for IFTA. Complete the setup instructions and run the IFTAStateReportJob to generate state mileage reports as necessary.

Create and Configure the Fleet Email Loop to send and receive Driver confirmations.

The Shipper/Consignee Transportation Profile contains additional related lists for Docks and Equipment Pools for Equipment Management. Create these records as necessary.

Create Driver records to assign to Trip Plans. Drivers must have one Contact. Add a Co-Driver to create a Team and add Drivers to a Trip Plan.

Create Zones with the Fleet box Checked to manage Fleet operations with Zones.

Data Model

User Permissions

Navigate to individual User records to provide the permissions for each Fleet Management user.

1. Assign permissions for the Fleet Management module.

   1. Add the Fleet Permissions field to the User page layout, if not already included on the page.

      1. From Setup → Object Manager navigate to the User object.

      2. Select the User Page Layouts tab. Choose User Layout.

      3. Add the Fleet Permission field to the page payout.

      4. Click Save.

   2. Provide the appropriate Fleet Permissions to each Fleet user.

      1. From Setup → Users find each User record and select Edit.

      2. Use the arrow buttons to move the appropriate permissions from Available to Chosen.

         1. Fleet Management (Ready Only, Read/Write)

         2. Trip Planning (Read Only, Read/Write)

         3. Appointment Scheduling (Read Only, Read/Write)

         4. Equipment Management (Read Only, Read/Write)
            

         5. Click Save.

The Read Only permission removes the top banner buttons from the Fleet Management Console. To restrict additional information, set user permissions accordingly.

Chatter Field Tracking

Set up Feed Tracking/Field Tracking for Chatter functionality in the Fleet Management Module.

From Object Manager, navigate to the following objects. For each, click the Edit button. Under Optional Features, check the box for Track Field History. Click Save.
