The other Transportation Profiles with the Record Type field as Vendor, Broker/3PL, and Customs Port are smaller than the Customer and Carrier Transportation Profiles. They are usually used for informational and organizational purposes.
Vendor Transportation Profile
The Vendor Transportation Profile serves as a subset of the Carrier Transportation Profile but focuses on vendor-related information only. The Vendor Transportation Profile contains information about settlement, ePayment, tax, and remittance for the vendor.
Vendor Services Related List
The Vendor Transportation Profile contains the Vendor Services related list.
Selecting the New button opens the New Carrier Service modal.
While you can create a record regardless of the Service Type and Carrier field in the Vendor Services related list, the Service Type field should be set to Vendor and the Carrier should be an Account with the TMS Type of Vendor.
Find more information about how to set up vendor services in the Carrier Service Setup article.
Broker/3PL Transportation Profile
The Broker/3PL Transportation Profile serves as a subset of the Customer Transportation Profile but only focuses on general logistics information. The Broker/3PL Transportation Profile contains the following general information:
Load Defaults
Document Generation
Mileage and Routing
Product and Pricing
Rating Automation
Billing
Note: The Broker/3PL Transportation Profile is not automatically created during an Account creation. Create the Broker/3PL Transportation Profile from the Transportation Profile list view, then select the New button and the Broker/3PL record type.
Carrier Rate Entries Related List
By default, the Broker/3PL Transportation Profile contains the Carrier Rate Entries related list.
Suppose a Rate Entry record has the Transportation Profile field set to the Broker/3PL Transportation Profile and the Category field is set to Carrier. In that case, the rate entry will appear in the related list for the Broker/3PL Transportation Profile.
Customs Port Transportation Profile
The Customs Port Transportation Profile serves as a container of information regarding the United States and Canadian port codes.
These Account types are primarily used for the Border Connect integration. View the list of Customs Port Transportation Profile records that are added from this integration in the US Customs Ports, Canadian Customs Port Codes, and Canadian Customs Ports Sublocation Codes articles.
