Accessorial Rate Entries may be auto-applied and calculated for a Load on Customer and Carrier Quotes. These accessorial charges can apply to Loads created in the TMS and for Portal users.
Transportation Profile Setup
Select when an accessorial is auto-applied based on the Customer Transportation Profile or the Global Default Transportation Profile setting.
Navigate to the Customer Transportation Profile to set the Auto-Apply Accessorial Rating Source field. By default, this field is set to Customer + Global Rates. When set to Customer + Global Rates, any auto-apply accessorials that match on the Global Default Transportation Profile are included in Customer Quotes.
If necessary, set this field to Customer Rates Only. When set to Customer Rates Only, Accessorial Rate Entries for this Customer Transportation Profile only are included in Customer Quotes.
Rate Entry Setup
Create Accessorial Rate Entries by setting the Rate Type field to Accessorial and selecting the Auto-Apply checkbox.
Accessorial Rate Entries can be set per Mode or Lane. See the Rate Entry Detail article for more information about creating Accessorial Rate Entries.
Rate Entries match based on the matching fields with Loads. See the Load Match Test article to see how Rate Entries match with Loads.
Note: Accessorials automatically applied to a Customer Quote respect the applicable Carrier Markup Group for accessorials.
Auto-Apply to Quotes
Manually add the same Accessorial to a Load, even when that accessorial is auto-applied on the Load. The Rate Entry remains tagged in the Pricing Notes for a quote even when the accessorial is added manually.
This process is similar to creating Accessorial Rate Entries for carriers. The Rate Entry must match on the Carrier Service.
Warning: Accessorial names should be different for pickup and delivery so that the TMS does not remove a valid accessorial. Suppose a Load has Pickup and Delivery Stops with Remote Access accessorial charges. Name them Remote Access Pickup and Remote Access Delivery so that each accessorial is applied to the Load.
