A Fleet Notification is an alert that checks the operations of Drivers and Fleet Assets for potential Trip Plan issues, such as an expiring CDL or an upcoming annual inspection.
These notifications run once per day via a Fleet Management Job and are displayed in the Trip Event Viewer Lightning Web Component (LWC) by selecting the bell icon
on the Fleet Driver and Fleet Asset Views.

Create these notification alerts in the Carrier Transportation Profile used by the Company/Division Account for the Driver and Fleet Asset records.
Caution: Only create Fleet Notification records that primarily apply for the Company/Division on the Transportation Profile.
If a Fleet Notification record is created where the related field is not used, Drivers or Fleet Assets receive a notification with the message “{Fleet Notification Type} expiration date is missing” in the Message column.
View and Acknowledge Alerts
To view these Fleet Notifications for the Driver or Fleet Asset, select the red bell icon
next to the record to open the Trip Event Viewer LWC. Select the Fleet Notification Logs tab to view a list of notifications.

The Type field describes which Fleet Notification Type generated this log, and the Message field informs how many days until the date expires or is due. If the date on the field is past today’s date, it states how long ago it expired or overdue in days.
Fleet Notification Logs are deleted when the DataCleanupJob is running and the log has not been modified in the last 30 days.
Acknowledge these alerts by selecting the radio button next to the Notification Type. Once a Fleet Notification is acknowledged, the alert will not show as an active red bell icon again until a different Fleet Notification or Trip Event occurs for the Driver or Fleet Asset.

A section appears above the list of notifications, showing which user acknowledged the alert and when they did so. The value in the Acknowledged Datetime column is displayed in ISO 8601 format, with the time in UTC.
The Chatter Feed for the related record also appears in the modal, where the user can optionally share their acknowledgment.
Once you've acknowledged these alerts, select the Close button and refresh the view to update the bell icon to reflect that all Trip Events and Fleet Notifications have been acknowledged.
Notification Type Logic
Use the following flowcharts to see how these Fleet Notification types are triggered in the TMS.
Caution: Drivers and Fleet Assets that have a blank value for these dates will receive a notification stating that the date is missing.
In general, Fleet Notifications are triggered based on the following fields and dates:
Days Out on the Fleet Notification record
Today’s date
Date field to check on the Driver or Fleet Asset record
If the Driver or Fleet Asset field is an expiration date, the message states whether it will expire or has expired. If the field is a due date, the message informs either how many days are left before it’s due or overdue.
If the date on the field is before today’s date, the message defines how many days it is still valid. If the date is on or after today’s date, the message describes how many days has past from today’s date.
Generate a Notification Example
If the Notification Type is CDL, the Days Out is set to 5, the Driver’s CDL Expiration Date is April 9, 2026, and today’s date is April 6, 2026, then the following comparison:
CDL Expiration Date ≤ Today’s Date + Days Out
or
April 9, 2026 ≤ April 6, 2026 + 5 days
↓
April 9, 2026 ≤ April 11, 2026
Since the comparison is true, a Fleet Notification is generated for the Driver.
Driver
Some notifications depend on specific date fields in the Driver record, while others depend on the Expiration Date field of the Travel Credential records related to the Driver.
The Fleet Notifications for a Driver come from the Transportation Profile with the following relationship:
Contact field on the Driver record
↓
Account Name field on the Contact record
↓
Transportation Profile field on the Account record
Notification on Driver Record
The following date fields on the Driver record are checked and compared to today’s date plus the Days Out value in the Fleet Notification record.
Driver Field | Notification Type |
|---|---|
CDL Expiration Date | CDL |
Medical Card Expiration Date | Medical Cert |
Drivers License Expiration | License |
Next Physical Date | Next Physical Date |
Use the following flowchart to determine if a Fleet Notification is triggered for a Driver with the related field.
Note: Only Drivers that have the Activation Status field set to “Active” will receive Fleet Notifications.

Notification on Travel Credential Record
These Fleet Notifications review specific types of Travel Credentials and their expiration date. Create or update these Travel Credentials with the Travel Credentials for Parent Contact related list in the Driver record.

The following Notification Types check for specific Travel Credential types.
Caution: If a Driver does not have any of the Travel Credential records for the Notification Type, then a Fleet Notification is not generated for the Driver.
Notification Type | Travel Credential Types |
|---|---|
Hazmat Cert |

T - Endorsement for Towing Double/Triple Trailers |

Fleet Asset
The Fleet Notifications for a Fleet Asset come from the Transportation Profile with the following relationship:
Company/Division field on the Fleet Asset record
↓
Transportation Profile field on the Account record
The following date fields on the Driver record are checked and compared to today’s date plus the Days Out value.
Fleet Asset Field | Notification Type |
|---|---|
Out of Service Date | Out of Service |
Registration Expiration | Registration Expiration |
Next 90-Day Inspection | Next 90 Day Inspection |
Next Annual Inspection | Next Annual Inspection |
Use the following flowchart to determine if a notification is triggered for a Fleet Asset with these fields.
Note: Only Fleet Assets that have the Status field set to “Available” will receive Fleet Notifications. These notifications apply to all Fleet Asset types.
Caution: If the Fleet Asset is missing a date in the Out of Service Date field, a Fleet Notification is not generated with the missing expiration date message.
