Customer-Specific Commodity Lookup
Navigate to TMS Admin → Commodity Catalogues enter any recurring commodities that are often used when creating Loads and Rate Entries. These Catalogues are used by customers by setting the Commodity Catalogue field on the customer Transportation Profile record.
During Load and Rate Entry creation, these commodities can be searched and added as Line Item information.
Commodity lookup can also be enabled for the Customer Portal.
Define a Commodity Catalogue at the global Transportation Profile level to serve as a “backstop” catalogue. It is used for all customers that do not have a catalogue defined at the Transportation Profile level.
Add Commodities to the Customer Catalogue
Click the + button on the lower right corner of the modal to add a commodity to the Customer Catalogue.

The button does not appear if:
The user is viewing a Global catalogue.
The user does not have write access to the Commodity object.
Click the + button to open a modal to create a new Commodity.

Enter an Item Number and Description. Click Save to add the new commodity to the catalogue.
An error displays when entering an NMFC number for a commodity when the customer catalogue already includes that NMFC Number.
