Customer-Specific Commodity Lookup

Navigate to TMS Admin ðŸ¡ª Commodity Catalogues to see all Commodity Catalogues in the TMS. Create a new catalogue or enter any recurring commodities into catalogues that are often used when creating Loads. During Load creation, these commodities can be searched and added as Line Items.

These catalogues are used by customers by setting the Commodity Catalogue field on the Customer Transportation Profile record. Commodity lookup can also be enabled for the Customer Portal.

Define a Commodity Catalogue in the Global Default Transportation Profile to serve as a backstop catalogue. This setting is used for all customers that do not have the Commodity Catalogue field defined in the Customer Transportation Profile.

Add Commodities to the Customer Catalogue

Click the + button on the lower right corner of the modal to add a commodity to the Customer Catalogue.

The button does not appear if:

  1. The user is viewing a Global catalogue.

  2. The user does not have write access to the Commodity object.

Click the + button to open a modal to create a new Commodity.

Enter an Item Number and Description. Click Save to add the new commodity to the catalogue.

An error displays when entering an NMFC number for a commodity when the customer catalogue already includes that NMFC Number.
