Accessorial Exclusions prevent quotes from returning for carriers that do not support specific accessorial charges and cannot support the load requirements. If an Accessorial Exclusion is set up and related to a carrier, and the load includes the excluded accessorial, then that carrier is excluded from returning a quote.
Create these exclusions in the Accessorial Exclusions related list on the Carrier Transportation Profile.
Create a New Accessorial Exclusion
Select the New button to open the New Accessorial Exclusion modal.
The Accessorial and Carrier Transportation Profile fields are required to create an Accessorial Exclusion record.
The help icons contain the following text for each optional field in which the user can enter information:
Carrier Service: If a Carrier Service is selected here, then the Accessorial Exclusion is applied only to this specific Carrier Service and not to the other services of the Carrier.
Lane: Select a Lane that this Accessorial Exclusion will be applied to.
Warning: Do not select a Lane if a Location is selected in the Location field.
Effective Date: The start date when the Accessorial Exclusion becomes effective.
Note: If the Expected Date on the first Stop of the Load is less than the Effective Date on this Accessorial Exclusion, then the exclusion will not be applied to the Load.
Expiration Date: The date when the Accessorial Exclusion expires.
Note: If the Expected Date on the first Stop of the Load is greater than the Expired Date on this Accessorial Exclusion, then the exclusion will not be applied to the Load.
Reason: The reason for this exclusion.
Location: Select a Location that this Accessorial Exclusion will be applied to.
Expected Date Note: The Expected Date for the first Stop of the Load determines whether the accessorial exclusion applies to the Load. The Expected Date for the first Stop must fall on or between the Effective and Expiration Dates.
Using Accessorial Exclusions
When users search for a Carrier Service in the Freight Quote Assistant with a carrier accessorial exclusion that matches the accessorial on the Load, the carrier service is not available to select. This functionality prevents users from quoting, tendering, and assigning that carrier service because of the accessorial exclusion.
Carrier Quotes from API calls are not returned if an accessorial exclusion exists and matches the accessorial on the Load.
Customer Accessorial Exclusion Exception
If a specific customer should ignore an Accessorial Exclusion from a carrier, create a Customer Accessorial Exclusion Exception within the Accessorial Exclusion record. The carrier accessorial exclusion will apply to all customers except for certain ones defined in the Customer Accessorial Exclusion Exception related list.
Example Use Case
The Estes Express Carrier Transportation Profile has an Inside Pick Up Accessorial Exclusion. Within the Inside Pick Up Accessorial Exclusion record, the Revenova HQ Customer Transportation Profile is set up as a Customer Accessorial Exclusion Exception. Suppose a Load is created for the Revenova HQ customer and has an Inside Pick Up accessorial. In that case, the Estes Express carrier should return rates and be available for quoting, tendering, and assigning.
Create these exclusions on the Accessorial Exclusion record in the Customer Accessorial Exclusion Exception related list.
