Overview
API Insurance
If an API Insurance integration is enabled, Customer Portal users may request and authorize additional cargo insurance in the Quote Wizard LWC. Currently, only Falvey is supported. For other insurance information, see Insurance.
Cargo insurance options are set on each customer Transportation Profile. On the Portal tab, find the Cargo Insurance Option field and select Hide, Opt In, or Opt Out.
Hide - Show Cargo Insurance Options is hidden and customers are unable to select cargo insurance.
Opt In - Show Cargo Insurance Options is checked and the cost of cargo insurance is provided with each quote.
Opt Out - Show Cargo Insurance Options is available and customers may select cargo insurance, but is not required.
When a user creates a load and checks Show Cargo Insurance Options, the Cargo Value field is required before retrieving quotes or saving the load. The Cargo Insurance Offered field on the load is checked, and (if getting quotes) the price of the insurance is listed.
The Insurance Provider Fee and Insurance Service Fee fields do not display anywhere in the Customer Portal.
If a user chooses the insurance, an additional panel is displayed on the Quote Wizard Tender Page with a check box that must be checked before tendering the load.
Restricted Cargo
Some insurance APIs have restricted cargo which is not covered; this is NOT enforced by Revenova. It is crucial that the Cargo Insurance Excluded Commodities and Cargo Insurance Authorization fields are configured properly so the users are aware of the restrictions.
The insurance authorization can still apply even if tendering to the Carrier fails.
Errors are sent to the Customer Sales Rep. on the load by email. If there is no Customer Sales Rep. associated with the load, the user that edited the customer quote is sent the email. If no internal user edited the customer quote, the owner of the load is sent the email.
The Cargo Insurance Certificate URL may be added to the Load Options LWC in the Customer Portal. For setup and other information, see the Load Options LWC documentation.
